Joaquin Mares, a member of Team White Sox here in The Eagle Pass Little League, hit his first home run this week and his mother, my former student, Luisa informed The News Gram that the league is in full force and five teams are vying for the title.
In their game versus The Mets, Joaquin hit a rapper and raced around the bases, sliding at home for the dinger.
Let’s hope our Little Leaguers can duplicate the ace,placements of our 2012 team and reach the hallowed grounds of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
