It is such a versetile position that I can compare it to the tight end position in football, a man that can do the dirty work, block, block out, work the boards get rebounds and when you need it, score.
This week's Profile Series subject is just that for Coach Paulo Valero's CC Winn Mavericks, a scorer, a defender and a man down underneath the basket.
I give you CC Winn Maverick Power Forward Jovan Jimenez.
First of all congratulations for being selected Player Of The Week by your Coach. What can you tell our readers about last week's game and your performance?
It was a very tough and physical game. We went back and forth with a strong Crystal team. My team mates and I fought hard on both ends of the court but Unfortunately we came up short and took the loss.
What position do you play? What's your jersey number? I play power forward and my jersey number is 20,

What are your parents names? Siblings?
My parents names are Jose and Araceli Jimenez, my older brother is Josue Jimenez and my little sister is Jimena Jimenez
Who do you look up to? Who are your heroes?
I look up to my parents because they have always supported everything me and my siblings do. They have always inspired me to reach my full potential.
My hero is my father because he was my first coach and he has always pushed me to become better. He has always put our family first and works hard to provide everything we need to succeed in life.
What's your career highlight?
My career highlight happened this past weekend when we participated in the SA Invitational Tournament and I was selected First Team All Tourney.
Who's your favorite college team?
My favorite college team is TCU.
Favorite NBA team?
My favorite NBA team is The Golden State Warriors.
What are your first memories of playing basketball?
My first memories Of playing basketball come from when I was really young, about 7yrs old and I would practice drills and play with my older brother and father in our backyard. I also have a special memory of playing elementary ball with my older brother and cousins. These were the little things that made me fall in love with the game.
"Who's your favorite athlete and why?" The sport does not matter.
My favorite athlete is Jayson Tatum from the Boston Celtics. I like his style of play and I try to imitate his game by adding some of his moves to my game.
Offense or defense, it's up to you, give me your favorite play during a game? What is it called?
My favorite play is on defense, it’s a 1-3-1 zone.
Why do you like this kind of play, what do you do? What's your responsibility?
I play on top of the zone which allows me to create a lot of turn overs by getting steals and going into transition early. This is where most of my individual points come from.
Any hobbies?
My favorite hobby is gaming. I like to play 2K with my fellow team mates.
Favorite food?
Chicken Alfredo Pasta
What makes a good teammate?
A good teammate is someone who is able to communicate positively on the court and be able to make a team come together and play as one unit.
Talk to me about your Coach.
Our coach is always transparent with us. He works hard to bring unity and mutual respect to our team. He shows us the importance of coming together and working towards our team goal which is to make playoffs this season.

What advice would you give a kid playing basketball for the first time?
To work hard and never give up on their dreams. When someone says you can’t do something, work twice as hard to prove then wrong. Turn your haters into motivators!
What do you think of when you hear our fight song?
It inspires me to give it my all on the court and to remember where I come from and what I represent.
