Our Player Profile subject for this week is also a three-point shooting specialist for the Burnt Orange and White and from the looks of things, his family and this reporter go WAY back.

His parents, like yours truly, are and have been educators for many years impacting the lives of our future leaders and judging vfrom this young man's responses, they've done a great job with him as well.

I give you Eagle Pass Eagle Small Forward Christopher Jimenez.

First of all congratulations for being selected Player Of The Week by your Coach. What can you tell our readers about last week's game and your performance? 

We played a hard fought game against a tough opponent and came out with a big win. Overall I think I did well on my performance. I scored some 3s under pressure. I’d like to think I did my part independently while also working collectively as a team.

What position do you play? What's your jersey number?

My position is small forward and my jersey number is #15

What are your parents names? Siblings?

My parents names are Noe Jimenez and Teresa Jimenez. I have an older brother named Issac Jimenez and a older sister named Jennifer Jimenez

Who do you look up to? Who are your heroes?

My hero’s are my parents,

they’ve always been supportive throughout my basketball journey and willing to go above and beyond for me, they’re selfless and always prioritize me before themselves.

What's your career 

highlight?

My career highlight was my very first varsity game where I scored 20 points and beat the team at home

Who's your favorite 

college team?

My favorite college team is Ohio State

Favorite NBA team?

My favorite NBA team is the San Antonio Spurs

What are your first memories of playing basketball?

My first memories is when my dad was showing me how to play basketball at a very young age

"Who's your favorite athlete and why?" The sport does not matter. 

But mine is Kobe Bryant. Because he was focused on getting better all the time. He believed hard work, dedication and sacrifice would help you reach your goals 

Offense or defense, it's up to you, give me your favorite play during a game? What is it called? 

Taking a charge on defense 

Why do you like this kind of play, what do you do? What's your 

responsibility?

I like this play because it gets the team hyped up

Any hobbies?

My hobbies are playing video games, drawing, and listening to music.

Favorite food?

My favorite food is spicy lemon pepper wings

What makes a 

good teammate?

A good teammate is someone you can count on to have your back on and off the court

your Coach.

My coach continuously encouraged me to play defense and supported me in taking shots. He gave me pep talks and was hard on me when I needed to hear it. He is a good coach!

What advice would you give a kid playing basketball for the first time?

Try hard and push yourself to become greater than what you are.

What do you think of when you hear our fight song?

I feel motivated to try hard to win the game.
