Him and his family have a very special place in this reporter's heart as his granddad, Hector "El Apache" Reyes, his brother Juan Raul, his father Neto and his brother Hector are all teammates of mine and we go WAY back on the baseball diamonds of Eagle Pass, but especially the hard caliche fields of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, México.

I give you Eagle Pass Eagle Point Guard Ernesto Reyes.

First of all congratulations for being selected Player Of The Week by your Coach. What can you tell our readers about last week's game and your performance?

Our game vs southwest was a nailbitter, we played hard and we capitalized on alot of turnovers that our press created. I had 4 -3 pointers. 1 at the end to give my team the lead by 3.

The sport does not matter. Michael Jordan, his character, worth ethic and perseverance to get better and better.

Offense or defense, it's up to you, give me your favorite play during a game? What is it called?

To me defense is 1st, but the most exciting part for me personally is getting a steal and converting a 3 after that.  Our run and jump full court defense is my favorite defensive play.

Why do you like this kind of play, what do you do?

The purpose of the the run and jump full court defense is to generate turnovers and hurry up the opposing team.

What's your

Im at the top trying to trap the ball along with help from the weakside. I love playing hard nose defense.

Putting the team first over yourself, and pushing everyone to be their best- leading by example. But most importantly celebrating your teammates success!

Talk to me about

your Coach.

My coach, is like having another teammate. He worries about everyone's well-being.  He has our back for everything.  He pushes all of us to be our best and to belive in ourselves. He never gives up, his drive to compete and knowledge of the game has help my teammates and I understand the game better.

What's on your playlist? (Be specific. Artist and song.) Travis Scott,  Jay-z, playboi-cardi, my favorite song is "Bad Moon Rising” by Creedence.

What advice would you give a kid playing basketball for the first time?

If you want to be good at this game you have to start at ab early age, work on your handles and shoot, everything else will fall into place as you mature.
