Our next Profile Series subject is a killer, simply said.

She lets the other team have it and as a senior, and in this forum I am going to do what I would always do for our students and student athletes, as our former Assistant Superintendent Lalo Treviño remembers, I would tell our seniors, especially our at-risk seniors after we had helped them get over that elusive last hurdle, "I'm the first person you're gonna see when you walk off that stage."  We have to also thank her and all of our seniors from BOTH schools, for their dedication to our athletic programs.

I give you Eagle Pass Lady Eagle Middle Hitter Miranda Bermea.

First of all congratulations for being selected Player Of The Week by your Coach. What can you tell our readers about last week's game and your performance?

This game meant everything to each and everyone of us. This games outcome would determine if all of our hard work and effort would be worth it. As soon as the first serve went over, we knew this would be the best game of our lives. From the first point of the game to the last everyone fought and we showed the crowd and our opposing team what we were all about. The amount of support we had that day was incredible. The rowdiness of the crowd definitely made an impact on our performance.

What position do you play? What's your jersey number?

I am an outside hitter, number 7.

What are your parents names? Siblings?

My parents names  are Osvaldo and Julia Bermea. I have one sister, Julia P. Bermea.

Who do you look up to? Who are your heroes?

I look up to my parents and my sister. My parents do the unbelievable to always be there for me and push me to be my best self. They have gone to every game possible since I started my volleyball journey nine years ago in fourth grade. My sister has been one of the biggest mentors in my life. She has guided me through life and continues by my side through everything.

My career highlight would definitely be making playoffs my senior year.

Who's your favorite college team?

My favorite college team are the UT longhorns.

Offense or defense, it's up to you, give me your favorite play during a match?

Offense! My favorite play during a match is a shoot on the outside.

Why do you like this kind of play, what do you do? What's your responsibility?

I like this kind of play because it is a very fast set to the outside which beats the block, therefore I am able to put the ball away and get a kill; earning a point for my team!

Any hobbies?

My hobbies are baking and going to the gym.

Favorite food?

My favorite food cuisine is Italian food.

What makes a good teammate?

A good teammate is someone who will always give 100% for their team no matter what. Someone who is there to motivate others and never gives up.

Talk to me about your Coach.

My coach is definitely one of the toughest coaches I know. She pushed us to be the best because she knew our capabilities. She taught us mental toughness and helped prepare us for the real world.

What's on your playlist? (Be specific. Artist and song.)

My playlist is filled with all types of Latino music and Country music, especially Morgan Wallen.

What advice would you give a young lady playing volleyball for the first time?

As the years go by the level of volleyball gets harder, more will be expected from you, but that should not be intimidating, give it your all always and good things will come from it.

What do you think of when you hear our fight song?

Our fight song reflects power and determination to win. It fits our school perfectly and has the best beat!
