His brother Ruben was our QB, his dad Ruben was my assistant coach and he would ride with us often to practices at old Burr Park and to games at Rodgers Field. Good times.
Now, many, many moons later, he not only hits opposing players as one of the anchors of The Silver and Black Attack Defense, he also hits home runs for Coach Heriberto Roiz's Maverick Baseball squad.

First of all congratulations for being selected Player Of The Week by your Coach. What can you tell our readers about last week's game and your performance?
That it was a great team win it took everyone players,coaches,trainer to take the win I couldn't be more proud of my teammates.
I played good every play didn't take off any plays,and the toughest guy it was number 22 but I still manage to stay with him when he would go for the screen plays.

That we're still in the playoffs and that I have been on the varsity team since my sophomore year, a three-year letterman.

My favorite play is when they send the two linebackers on a play called Dog.
Why do you like this play, what do you do? What's your responsibility?
I like this play because they make the linebackers the dogs and they send us to get the QB.

That the fight song represents the football team but also it represents our school.
How does it feel to come out of the tunnel?
It feels really good because you know is time to get the Winn! It's game time! Friday Night Lights! It's time to hit somebody!
