Well our Profile Series subject is just that, a killer! It was very exciting to see these young ladies in their natural habitat excelling on the court, working as a team and achieving their goal, getting that "W".
I give you Eagle Pass Lady Eagle Right Side/Middle Hitter Daisy Rivas.
What can you tell our readers about last week's game and your
performance?
I was very nervous and anxious since we had been working for this since I first put on that varsity jersey sophomore year, but once I stepped on the court my adrenaline kicked in and I had one thing on my mind; winning for our team, our coach and our school.

Rey Rivas & Monica Pascoe Rivas.

Who do you look up to? Who are your heroes?
I look up to my mom because she is the one who supported and encouraged me the most throughout my 12 years of playing and I can not be more grateful for her for always pushing me to be the best version of myself and never losing sight of why I started playing in the first place… The love of the game!
What's your career highlight?
Definitely making playoffs my senior year.
Who's your favorite college team?
The Texas State Bobcats.
Who's your favorite female athlete and why?
Melanie Parra from UT Volleyball… Latina College/ Professional athletes are few and far between and Melanie at a young 16 year-old. She was already playing at the 2018 World Championships Five for the Mexican National team. The first time I saw a clip of her playing I was in awe and I can’t wait to see what comes next for her.
Offense or defense, it's up to you, give me your favorite play during a match? Offense/ my favorite play is running a C set with my setter Angela Gaona.
Why do you like this kind of play, what do you do? What's your responsibility?
I like this kind of play because it confuses the blockers. It is a set to the right side while I am in the middle and I go around and swing from the right side.
Any hobbies?
Besides volleyball my hobbies include making jewelry for my little business and going to the gym.
Favorite food?
Chicken Alfredo.
What makes a good teammate?
A good teammate will always motivate you to be the best, has a positive mentality, is humble, communicates, is respectful, and they hold themselves and others accountable. I have been lucky enough to have some of the best teammates throughout these last 12 years.

Queen, Journey, AC/DC, Olivia Rodrigo, Luke Combs, Khalid.
What advice would you give a young lady playing volleyball for the first time? Even when others doubt your ability trust in yourself and keep on working harder for it because ultimately you are the only person who can keep you from reaching your goals.
What do you think of when you hear our fight song?
It makes me feel proud of our school, my fellow students, our history and traditions.
