Your Eagle Pass Eagles were on the road again, this time in The Alamo City, Dub Farris Stadium to be exact, to square-off with The SA Marshall Rams.

The Rams struck first with 8:30 remaining in the first when QB Jack Kalinski broke off a 62 yard TD run right up the middle to put Marshall up 7-0.

But The Eagles answered right back a minute later as News Gram Player Of The Week TJ Mares showed our former district rivals that we were back as Mares scored on 47 yard run with 7:02 left in the first to tie the game after the Alan Losoya PAT at 7-7.

The Rams defense was steadfast for the rest of the half holding The Burnt Orange and White scoreless while scoring twice on a four yard TD pass with 6:32 in the half then on a three yard run at the end of the half to make it 21-7 Marshall going into the locker rooms.

Then it was last week's POTW Sir Isaac Stanwick who took it upon himself to will The Eagles back in this game as he matriculated the Eagle Offense down the field culminating the drive by calling his own number from two yards out to get the visitors back to within striking distance 14-7 after the Losoya PAT.

Six minutes later the Eagles pulled within one with another sustained drive that ended with another TJ Mares score with 3:47 left in the third but the missed point after left the game 21-20 still in favor of the Rams.

It was the Eagle Defense that also made adjustments and turned up the heat knocking heads with this old counterpart led by POTW Javi Santos and holding them scoreless the entire third quarter.

Then it was Stanwick again this time hooking up with former News Gram POTW Dakota Kypuros on a 60 yard TD pass to put The Eagles up late 26-21 with 7:02 left in the game. The two-point conversion was no good.

As the home-standing CC Winn Mavericks finally tore away from the visiting Uvalde Coyotes back home, The Rams sustained one single drive in the second half and scored on a one yard TD run. Both special teams were struggling and the PAT was no good as Morris Libson announced that our Eagles were down by one and hopefully the tables would turn for our Eagles. Unfortunately this would not happen and the Rams would hold on to cling on to the minimal difference of 27-26.

For The Eagles, Stanwick was 13 for 24 for 164 yards with a TD. TJ Mares and The Eagle rushing attack had 26 rushes for 196 yards and The Eagles had 360 of total offense. Mares had 11 rushes for 131 yards and two TD's.
