Eagles fall to Laredo Alexander

The Eagle Pass Varsity Eagles Football team lost to Laredo Alexander by a score of 42-30 during homecoming festivities held at the Cozel Foster Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, October 24. 

Laredo Alexander went up by two scores during the first quarter making the score 14- 0. The Eagles, led by Coach Tom Gonzalez, were able to get back in the game, first on a drive that ended in the end zone in a touchdown pass from QB Allan Rodriguez to wide receiver Domingo Fuentes, making the score 14-7.

The Eagles would score once again tieing up the game at 14-14.

Laredo would drive 96 yards into Eagle's territory and eventually score, going up once again by a score of 21-14.

Laredo went into halftime leading 21-14.

The Mighty Eagles would come out in the third quarter and take the ball into Laredo's territory and eventually score a game tieing touchdown. The score would now be at 21 a piece after the Eagles PAT was good.

Laredo would answer right back and take the ball into the Eagles end zone with less than 7 minutes left to play in the third quarter.

The score was now Laredo 28 Eagle Pass 21. 

The Eagles offense was not able to do much in their next possession.

Laredo would extend their lead on their next possession, going up by a score of 35 to 21.

The Eagles kicked a field goal on their next go around making the score 35 to 24. Laredo once again drove the field to score again, basically cementing the win if they could stop the Eagles offense from scoring. Laredo led at this point by a score of 42 to 24.

The Eagles would make a go of their next possession and put together a 71 yard touchdown drive which culminated in a 30 yard touchdown pass from Rodriguez to wide receiver Carlos Santos.

The PAT attempt was no good. The score was now 42 to 30.

Laredo's offense was then able to run out the clock, taking the victory.
