The Eagles bounced back from last week's defeat at the hands of the Laredo United Longhorns by a score of 42 to 28 on Friday, September 27, 2019.
The Eagles would take the lead during the first quarter of Thursday's crucial game and not look back.
The first of five Eagle touchdowns came in at the first quarter when they put together a 15 play drive that would culminate when Quarterback Allan Rodriguez would connect with Dakota Kypuros, who would take it to the LBJ one yard line.
On the next play Isaac Caballero would punch the ball in for the score. The PAT was good and the Eagles would go up 7 to 0.
The Eagles Land Shark defense would get LBJ to turn over the ball on downs.
The Eagles offense would also come off the field on their next possession without a score.
The Eagles defense once again made quick work of LBJ's offense, sacking their quarterback and forcing them to punt.
On the next possession the Eagles would score on a Quarterback pitch out to TJ Mares, who would run 41 yards in for the score. The kicker missed the PAT, making the score 13 to 0.
Laredo would eventually score on a 36 yard field goal and would recover and Eagles fumble in the next possession. They would take it in for the score a couple of plays later, ending the first half at Eagles 13 LBJ 10.
In the second half of gridiron play the Eagles Land Shark defense would play lights out football and shut down Laredo's offense, keeping them scoreless.
The Eagles offense would continue racking up the points and would capitalize off a Kristian Barcena interception, which gave them excellent field position in the third quarter.
Rodriguez got the Eagles in scoring position on a 26 yard pass play to WR Carlos Santos. Mares would take two plays to score for the third time.
The Eagles would extend their lead to 20 to 10. QB Rodriguez would again lead his team down the field and strike pay dirt on a 30 yard pass to Jacob Ruiz.
The PAT was no good and the lead would go to 26 to 10 in the third quarter.
The Eagles defense would tack on the exclamation point when LB Jacob Salinas would intercept LBJ's Quarterback on the 5 yard line and run it in for a defensive score.
The PAT was good and the Eagles were now up 33 to 10.
The Eagles would add on to their lead before the end of the game on a field goal by kicker Erick Ramirez.
The Eagles are now at a record of 4 – 2 and are 1 – 1 in District play.
