The Eagle Pass Eagles captured their 14th win in a row against the CC Winn
Thundering Mavericks, who left it all on the field but were not able to overcome a well planned and executed game by EPHS Coach Tom Gonzalez and staff.
In a match up of 1-1 teams the Eagles dominated both ends of the ball game and beat the Mavericks by a score of 24 to 0.
During the first quarter the Eagles were able to capitalize on a Winn turnover that gave them a short field starting at the Winn 11 yard line. 4 plays later the Eagles scored on a hand off from QB No. 7 Allan Rodriguez to RB No. 3 Issac Caballero. The Eagles would go up 7 to 0.
CC Winn attempted on numerous occasions to march down the field but the Eagle's land shark defense would stop their every effort.
The Eagles would get another takeaway when Defensive Back No. 2 Kristian Barcena would intercept Winn QB Ethan Johnston.
The Eagles would need one play to score once again in the second quarter on a pass from Rodriguez to Wide Receiver Dakota Kypuros.
The Eagles would extend their lead to 14 to 0.
During the third quarter the Eagles Kicker No. 35 Erick Ramirez added another three points to the lead extending the score to 17 to 0.
Rodriguez and the Eagles offense would add another touchdown to the score when he RB No.29 sophomore Jose Hernandez would score making the score 24 to 0.
The Eagles have a record of 2 wins, one loss and are scheduled to play Mccollum High School in San Antonio on Friday, September 20. CC Winn had an early record of one win and two losses and will face Pearsall High School on Friday,
September 20 in Eagle Pass with game time to be at 7:30 pm.
