EAGLE PASS, TEXAS –U.S.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers kept sharp focus on border security efforts, seizing a total of 1,395.5 pounds of marijuana in a single enforcement action at the Eagle Pass, Texas Import Lot.

“Securing the cargo environment is a critical mission for CBP and this weekend’s significant marijuana seizure underscores the need for our officers to stay ever-vigilant and aware of the narcotics threat while facilitating lawful commerce,” said Port Director Paul Del Rincon, Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

The seizure occurred on Saturday, March, 9 when CBP officers utilizing canines and a non-intrusive imaging system discovered 100 packages containing a total of 1,395.5 pounds of marijuana within an International tractor hauling a shipment of super sacks of polypropylene. The narcotics have an estimated street value of $279,102.

CBP officers seized the narcotics. The case remains under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations special agents.
