Talk about going back to the Gateway City in style! Laredo’s Jesus Palacios is the latest big winner in the Kickapoo Lucky eagle Casino’s Dream Drive promotion which has all of South Texas going gaga for the chance to win one of seven luxury vehicles. But this time, Palacios was not the first name chosen as two lucky but unfortunate individuals, San Antonio’s Luis Rodriguez and Uvalde’s Irene Ybarra were the first names drawn from the hopper by Mr. Moneybags in the third installment of this promotion. Another first on this night was the fact that the winner had his mind made up when he was asked which of the five remaining vehicles he was going to choose as he wasted no time in choosing what many in Eagle Pass had as their first choice, the big, bad black on black Jaguar! Palacios posed proudly with his newly acquired baby and reminded us all that you must be present to win and that the ‘Winning is Bigger in Texas’ at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino-Hotel where you could be the next lucky winner to drive away in a Dream Drive!

Irma Gonzalez had to find her way to the winner’s circle when her name was called out on the loudspeakers which surround the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino as Mr. Moneybags did the honors himself as the emcee for the casino’s biggest promotion yet, the giving away of seven cars in seven days. “We have a winner,” said Mr. Moneybags, “If you’re from Eagle Pass and your name is Irma you are in the running to be the next big winner as possibly dozens of Irmas in the house felt their heart begin pounding a little faster than usual before he concluded,

In a recent exclusive interview with CEO of the Maverick County Hospital District, Elcira Bares, the administrator informed The News Gram of an oversight in recent reports stemming from their latest financial data in their 'Statement of Revenues and Expenditures for the Month of September 2013'. The document lists operating revenues, all expenses of the district, then non-operating revenues, the latter of which has been omitted in a recent report outlining the finances of the MCHD. "All expenses of the district are considered operating expenses," stated Bares, "The report in particular is omitting non-operating revenues in the Operating Gains (Losses) column."
