A press conference was held on Friday afternoon in reference to the Quemado irrigation canal rupture that has caused a state of emergency throughout the northern part of Precinct 3 for the past week.
County Judge David Saucedo introduced his team of personnel who have been diligently working towards a solution in reference to this veritable disaster which struck the Quemado Valley on Monday causing emergency water rationing and in some cases the complete loss of water pressure to users in and around the area.
He took the liberty of thanking the members of the media for taking the time to cover this story helping his team to inform the general public of progress that has been made with respect to the disaster.  He also wanted to personally thank all of the entities who have come together to assist the County in this time of great need as a myriad of people are involved in the repair efforts at this time.
He then passed the podium to County Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales who will serve as the official spokesperson from here on out as this situation comes full circle and the canal is finally rebuilt.
Rosales reported that Maverick County Water Works is presently delivering the natural resource to all 320 active accounts at this time thanks to two pumps graciously provided by Stallion, a contractor who was made available via Chesapeake after State Representative Pete Gallego made contact with them late Tuesday.
Rosales took the opportunity to thank Gallego for quickly coming to the aid of the county as other members of the media asked whether our actual representatives had come forward as well.
Pressure was down in many areas of the precinct but has since been restored.
The pumps have moved a quantity of 700,000 gallons in the past twenty four hours.
The County is waiting for approval of a Texas Department of Agriculture application for $250,000.00 in aid.

La misteriosa desaparición de Patricia Casares el 21 de enero del 2009 es un caso que sigue pendiente y la familia de Casares le pide a la comunidad que no se olviden de ella.
Piden que si algiuen tiene alguna información al respecto porfavor lo den a conocer a las autoridades.
Patricia Casares fue reportada como desaparecida el 21 de enero del 2009, su familia puso el reporte ante el departamento de policía, según los reportes la última vez que fue vista fue al salir de su trabajo aproximadamente a las 5:00 pm en el hospital local, ella viajaba en su unidad 2001 Dodge Durango, color verde, y dos días mas tarde este vehículo fue localizado en el estacionamiento de la tienda Sear's en Eagle Pass, pero los investigadores no localizaron nada anormal en el auto.
El jefe de Policía Juan Antonio Castañeda dijo que la investigación sigue abierta, y que inclusive un detective ha sido asignado para trabajar en el caso y verificar cualquier pista o dato que pueda dar con la localización de Patricia.
También continúa vigente la recompensa de 10 mil dólares que fue establecida desde el inicio de la investigación para la persona que aporte datos contundentes que lleven a la localización de la mujer.
El Departamento de Policía ha permanecido en contacto con la familia Casares, su padre Fernando Casares, ha estado pendiente de las investigaciones. A lo largo de todo este tiempo la comunidad ha dado gestos de solidaridad, muchas personas y organizaciones se han unido para hacer oración y pedir por Patricia.
Patricia de 44 años al momento de desaparecer, tiene dos hijos, y en aquel momento estaba en proceso de divorcio y quien fuera su esposo, el Sr. Treloar ya no vive en esta Ciudad.  La última vez que fue vista, vestía con falda negra, camisa negra, un saco rojo con una chamarra gris, zapatos negros planos, un collar plateado y aretes plateados.  ella tiene tres cicatrices pequeñas en su abdomen y una marca de nacimiento en su espalda a nivel de su sintura en la forma de un círculo.  Treloar mide 5'3" tendría 47 años, mediana de estatura, ojos cafés con el cabello largo.

The generosity of the Junfin family is and has aways been greatly appreciated and this is no exception as they donated over 2000 sacks to the local food bank this week.
Kunafin specializes in the breeding of trichogramma, lacewings and fly parasites among other biologicals and residuals which help ranchers produce better quality beef, dairy farmers to produce fresher milk products and poultry farmers to have cleaner facilities free of germ-spreading flies of all kinds.
