After receiving a grant from the National Recreation and Parks Association the City of Eagle Pass Parks and Recreation Department along with the Mayors Fitness Council are offering adults ages 50 plus a new way to stay fit. The program Walk with Ease will be offered free to the community. This exercise and walking classes began on March 20 from 6 to 7 PM at the San Juan Plaza.

Maverick County Democratic primary election results include 4 local runoff races to be settled in the month of May. Early voting will be from May 14 -18 with election day set for May 22.
In total there were 9,086 votes cast or a 29 % voter participation.
