Maverick County Commissioners Court held a meeting on January 8, in which they discussed the appointment of a new county attorney after the automatic resignation of Attorney Ricardo Ramos. 

Local attorney Antonio Gonzalez escaped serious injury and death when he had a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, December 6. 

The Maverick County Commissioners Court has withdrawn Attorney Poncho Nevarez as counsel on two legal matters involving Dos Republicas Coal Partnership vs. David Saucedo and Maverick County in the 293 and 365 Judicial District Courts.
