-Maverick County Lake Pavillion

Seven couples were legally married on Saturday at the Maverick County Lake Pavillion by Justice of the Peace Kina Mancha on a beautiful Valentine's Day afternoon.
"This is actually the second year we hold this Valentine's Day event, last year we had one couple ask me to marry them on this date and this year we had seven couples, seven times to is fourteen, perfect for Valentine's," said JP Mancha.
According to Mancha, the couples needed to have gone by three days in advance to the County Clerk's office to request their certificate, then stop by to register at her offices which are located in Las Quintas Fronterizas.
"It's a very simple process, it's free and it's the day of love and romance, so that was the reason that I decided to keep on doing this.  This year we actually had a couple come all the way from Hebbronville to get married so the event is getting bigger."
The couples were dressed in their finest Valentine's Day apparel, had flowers and rings and when it was time to kiss the bride, at least one of the couples really took it seriously to the gratification of the dozens who attended.
After the ceremony, many celebrations were planned right there at Maverick County Lake where friends and family members were busy cooking and preparing meals while others went elsewhere to hold their after parties at reception halls or at their homes.
