   The tragic attempted suicide of a 16 year-old female prompted the Eagle Pass Police and Fire Department personnel to rush to North Veterans Blvd. at approximately 11:45pm on Thursday March 29.
   Police units responded to the scene where it was reported that a female had jumped off the Veterans Boulevard overpass.

EPFD respond to vehicle on fire

The Eagle Pass Fire and Police Department responded to an emergency call on Tuesday January 16 at approximately 12:00 pm in the 2300 block of Del Rio Boulevard.

The Eagle Pass Fire Department had a busy weekend with numerous emergency calls, including two fire runs to the Seco Mines area.

Three people have died and two were injured in a head-on collision on Hwy 481 on Tuesday, December 25 at approximately 11:50 a.m. on the Old Uvalde Road approximately 25 miles southeast of Uvalde.

DPS reports that a Ford Expedition occupied by a driver and three passengers was traveling north on FM 481. The Ford Expedition struck a wild hog on the roadway, and entered the southbound lane of travel and struck a 2011 Mercedes GK3 headon. 

The Maverick County Sheriff Department and Eagle Pass Fire Department responded to the emergency call and upon arrival both agencies found the two vehicles completely engulfed in flames. The Eagle Pass Fire Department rescue unit extracted the five individuals that were involved from within the motor vehicles and transferred them to Uvalde Memorial Hospital. 

Ruby Garza, 51, driver of the Ford Expedition and a resident of Uvalde, was pronounced dead on the scene. Julia Vasquez, 51, a passenger in the Ford Expedition and a resident of Uvalde was pronounced dead at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. Antonio Cordova, 27, driver of the Mercedes and a resident of Eagle Pass was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS Troopers are still investigating at this time.

 

 

3 muertos en  trágico accidente

  Tres personas murieron y dos resultaron heridas en un choque de frente en la carretera Hwy 481 el martes 25 de diciembre  aproximadamente a las 11:50 a.m. en la calle Old Uvalde Road, a 40 km al sureste de Uvalde.

  DPS informa que una Ford Expedition ocupada por la conductora y tres pasajeros viajaba hacia el norte por la FM 481. La Ford Expedition golpeó un cerdo salvaje en la carretera, y entró en el otro carril  hacia el sur y chocó contra un Mercedes GK3 2011.  

  El Departamento de Sheriff del Condado de Maverick y el Departamento de Bomberos de Eagle Pass respondieron a la llamada de emergencia y al llegar ambas agencias encontraron los dos vehículos completamente envueltos en llamas. La unidad de rescate del Departamento de Bomberos de Eagle Pass saco a las cinco personas involucradas desde dentro de los vehículos y fueron  transferidos al Hospital de Uvalde Memorial.

The Eagle Pass Police Department reported that a 10-year-old accidentally shot himself with a hunting rifle on Saturday, December 16, at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Law enforcement officials state that the incident occurred on the corner of Main Street and Harold Street where the vehicle the child was in was at a stop light. The child was with his brother and his grandfather in the vehicle when the high powered hunting rifle went off and the boy was shot in the leg. No one else was injured.

Eagle Pass Police Department officials were in the area when they heard the gunshot and responded to the emergency immediately. The Eagle Pass Fire Department Emergency Medical Technicians were quick to follow, and upon making contact with the child began treatment to the wound immediately. 

The child was then transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers emergency room, but has to be taken to a San Antonio Hospital due to the severity of the injury. At this point, it is believed that the child could possibly lose his leg due to severity of the injury. 

 

 

 

 

 

Niño se dispara accidentalmente

El Departamento de Policía de Eagle Pass informó que un niño de 10 años se pegó un tiro accidentalmente con un rifle de caza el  pasado sábado aproximadamente a las 3:30 p.m.

Los oficiales de la ley afirman que el incidente ocurrió en la esquina de Main Street y Harold Street, donde el vehículo en el que se encontraba el niño estaba en una luz de freno. 

El niño estaba con su hermano y su abuelo en el vehículo cuando el rifle de caza de alta potencia se disparó y el niño recibió un disparo en la pierna. Nadie más resultó herido.

Los oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Eagle Pass estaban en el área cuando escucharon el disparo y respondieron a la emergencia de inmediato. Los técnicos médicos de emergencias del Departamento de Bomberos de Eagle Pass se apresuraron a seguirlos y, al establecer contacto con el niño, comenzaron inmediatamente el tratamiento de la herida.

Luego, el niño fue transportado a la sala de emergencias de los Centros Médicos Regionales de Fort Duncan, pero debe ser trasladado a un Hospital de San Antonio debido a la gravedad de la lesión. Se cree que el niño podría perder su pierna debido a la gravedad de la lesión.
