Talk about going back to the Gateway City in style! Laredo’s Jesus Palacios is the latest big winner in the Kickapoo Lucky eagle Casino’s Dream Drive promotion which has all of South Texas going gaga for the chance to win one of seven luxury vehicles. But this time, Palacios was not the first name chosen as two lucky but unfortunate individuals, San Antonio’s Luis Rodriguez and Uvalde’s Irene Ybarra were the first names drawn from the hopper by Mr. Moneybags in the third installment of this promotion. Another first on this night was the fact that the winner had his mind made up when he was asked which of the five remaining vehicles he was going to choose as he wasted no time in choosing what many in Eagle Pass had as their first choice, the big, bad black on black Jaguar! Then the first name was drawn from the massive hopper at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino, Corpus Christi's Janet Scott must have been pulling the lever at a one armed-bandit somewhere across the vast expanse of what is now the largest casino of its kind in South Texas before she finally arrived to the designated winner's circle. When she was escorted to the front of the main casino entrance to choose from one of the seven grand prizes parked proudly out front, she couldn't make up her mind as she had her pick of the 2014 Jaguar, Infinity, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Acura or Cadillac.

Methodist Church hen The Honorable Karen Angelini, 4th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge speaks, people listen. Angelini was even seen admiring the work of local students who are part of Border Hope's efforts to reach out to kids who just need someone to believe in them to assist them in dealing with life's obstacles.
