In Del Rio, 45-year old Texas Mexican Mafia (TMM) member Jesus Meza, Jr. (aka “Jesse”) was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release for violating federal racketeering and drug trafficking statutes announced Acting United States Attorney Richard L. Durbin, Jr., Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent in Charge James Spero, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge Joseph M. Arabit and Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw.

A recent visit to the office of Planning Director Brian Shea shed some light on one of three executive session items discussed Tuesday evening at the Regular Meeting of city council as he basically outlined what could one day be a new street which could connect Flowers to Bibb Ave.
What is being proposed and requested by many citizens is what would be a 50 foot wide paved street which already goes by Kilowatt Drive and is a partially paved offshoot of Flowers at the entrance of Liberty Elementary.

The 14,719 students of the Eagle Pass Independent School District begin their summer vacation today with early dismissal at noon for elementary-aged students and 1:00 PM for secondary schools.
McDonald’s Restaurant recently held a graduation luncheon for their 2015 High School Senior Team Members from all 4 locations in Eagle Pass. The Seniors were honored with a meal, graduation picture frames and other treats. Jose Faz, Center Manager for the Texas Workforce Center informed The News Gram that although no funding was received this summer for the SWTJC Upward Bound Summer Program, there are many job opportunities still available for students 16 years of age and over and he asks that they come by the workforce center to register on the Work In Texas website to be considered for summer employment.
