El Departamento de Transportación de Texas notificó a la Ciudad de Eagle Pass y al Condado de Maverick que existen recursos disponibles para realizar el estudio de impacto y el diseño de lo que será la carretera directa a Laredo, así lo informó el Mayor de la Ciudad, Ramsey English Cantu, quien mencionó que el proceso va por buen camino, aunque aclaró que al momento no se tiene confirmado que ya exista una fecha de inicio de construcción y que ya se tengan recursos para llevarla a cabo, de momento es solo los preparativos. Dijo que esta semana esperan reunirse con autoridades de Laredo, Texas para revisar el plan y seguir trabajando juntos para poder hacerlo realidad.

The Texas Department of Transportation notified the City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County that resources do indeed exist for an impact study and the design of what could soon be a new highway from Eagle Pass straight to our sister city of Laredo, according to The Honorable Ramsey English-Cantú who added that the talks are headed down positive avenues at this time.

As the beginning of the school year has come and gone, parents are asked to check to see if the attitude of their child has not changed any in order to inform themselves and/or to ask their child's teacher whether or not that their child is suffering from a phenomenon called bullying on the part of their classmates or anyone else in school. The aforementioned information was provided by Yadil De La Torre, who in the summer, worked with students, educating them on how to avoid being bulllied in school.
