Felan: “Let people vote for what they see fit”
After almost a year of fighting for a tax rate rollback election, one of the most vocal members of the group known as the Concerned Maverick County Taxpayers, Ethelvina Felan is addressing the community about the County’s continued push back.
In a letter to the public, Felan writes that instead of simply having the election, the County continues to waste money on legal fees to appeal the court’s order for an election.

The saga between Maverick County and Ethelvina Felan as petitioner and part of the defunct rollback election petition deemed invalid by the Maverick County Commissioners Court, has now been taken to the legal court system.
Registered voters say removal from Tax Rate Rollback Petition list was illegitimate
A group of registered voters in Maverick County contacted The News Gram on January 17, stating that they had signed the tax rate rollback petition, but were among the registered voters that had been crossed out off the list, indicating that the Maverick County Elections Office claimed their signatures were invalid.
