WGWS continues support for victims of domestic violence

2017 saw a decrease in domestic violence arrests and incidents, but assistance and intervention by the Winter Garden Women's Shelter (WGWS) and other agencies remains steady.
During the past fiscal year (Sept to Aug) WGWS saw over 170 cases here locally, an average of 14 cases per month.
Community Supports Project COMPANION Holiday Donation Drive
Over 850 lbs. of pet food and 140+ blankets collected to benefit local shelter pets
The cold weather did not stop the community from helping out local shelter pets as they generously donated bags of pet food, blankets, dog treats and toys. Project COMPANION volunteers were at the ready to collect the items which they will be distributing to both the City and County holding facilities over the upcoming months.
