The Eagle Pass City Council is currently accepting applications for the position of city manager after Arturo B. Rodriguez tendered his letter of resignation during a meeting held on December 29, 2017.

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber has announced that his department has obtained 36 brand new bullet proof vests for his deputies. Schmerber has stated that the safety wear cost approximately $10,000. The purchase was part of a strategic plan which included the renewal of security equipment and other facets including the purchase of some new vehicles as well.
