Gas leak in the Rosita Valley area prompts evacuations

The Eagle Pass Fire Department , Maverick County Sheriff’s Department and Texas Department of Public Safety responded to an emergency call in the Rosita valley area on Thursday afternoon.
Law enforcement agencies were notified that a natural gas leak was detected in close proximity to the Shell Gas (Casino) station as approximately 4 pm.

The Maverick County Sheriff, Eagle Pass Fire Department, and Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a natural gas leak in the area of El Indio Highway and Loop 480 at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 9.
Workforce secures grant to train dislocated workers

Middle Rio Grande Workforce Solutions has obtained the National Dislocated Worker Grant, allowing them to assist many local workers who were laid off from the oil and gas industry.
City agrees to increase of gas, water rates

At Tuesday evening’s special meeting, Eagle Pass City Council agreed to an increase of natural gas and water prices during it’s first reading.
A total of three public readings will be held before either projects can officially begin.
Gas rate to increase by September 1

The City of Eagle Pass has agreed to a rate change for customers of Texas State Natural Gas, Inc set to begin September 1 of this year.
The changes will apply to residential services, small commercial and industrial services, large commercial and industrial services, and public authority services within the city.
