Youth council proposes Keep EP Beautiful Campaign
The Eagle Pass Youth City Council presented the City Administration an idea to put together an awareness campaign specifically called Keep Eagle Pass Beautiful during the council meeting held on Tuesday May 1st.
During the monthly activity reports portion of the meeting, youth Mayor Nadiyah E. Ledesma asked if there was any way that such a campaign could be put together to bring awareness on the beautification of our community. “Is there a way that we can create a campaign for people to be more aware of the importance of keeping our city parks and community at large much cleaner?” asked Ledesma.
Council seeks to amend code including council seat pay; Special election to be held May 5
The Eagle Pass City Council voted in favor of holding a special election on Saturday, May 5,2018 for 6 new propositions in the code of ordinances.

City council continues discord with issue of annexation

The Eagle Pass City Council held a meeting on Tuesday January 16 in which they continued to review the possible annexation of 1,804.15 acres (5 tracts of land) in different areas of Maverick County.
During the meeting council discussed if they had to actually annex all the proposed land they were being presented.

City Council agrees to Union Pacific requests

The Eagle Pass City Council will begin negotiations with Union Pacific on the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property offered by Union Pacific Railroad including the possible closing of certain streets and crossings within city limits, submitting a notice of intent of quite zone areas to the Federal Railroad Administration (“FRA”).
Early voting for city election ends with 1,368 total votes
The Eagle Pass City Mayoral and City Council Election early voting period ended on Tuesday, May 2, with a total of 1,368 votes cast.
