A Texas Department of Transportation has lost an employee who had been part of the department for 18 years, after an incident at a work site on Thursday, March 30.

44-year-old   Transportation Crew Chief Cody Babineau, a Del Rio resident, passed away during a maintenance operation between Del Rio and Comstock. 

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber is hoping to bring together law enforcement throughout the area through a conference that aims to facilitate communication and gather intel to better fight crime.
