The Eagle Pass Water Works System Board of Trustees held a meeting on Wednesday, August 16, during which EPWWS General Manager Jorge Barrera presented the board with information on the expansion of an area of roadway spanning from the Main IBC Bank  to Loop 480 by the Texas Department of Public Transportation offices.

Beginning on May 3, 2017, Zumwalt Construction is scheduled to begin work on Business (BU) 277 in Eagle Pass/Maverick Co. Therefore, alternate lane closures will be in effect. Limits of the project are from Veterans Blvd to Ceylon St for an approximate length of 1.5 miles. The work will consist of mill & inlay of asphalt pavement. The project duration is about 2 months.

A Texas Department of Transportation has lost an employee who had been part of the department for 18 years, after an incident at a work site on Thursday, March 30.

44-year-old   Transportation Crew Chief Cody Babineau, a Del Rio resident, passed away during a maintenance operation between Del Rio and Comstock.

   Las condiciones peligrosas de tráfico en la intersección de Loop 480 y FM 1021 (autopista El Indio)  que han dejado  múltiples accidentes de vehículos, lesiones y muertes han llevado finalmente al Departamento de Transporte de Texas (TXDOT) a instalar semáforos en los intentos de aliviar el problema.

Frequent vehicular accidents at the intersection of Loop 480 and El Indio Road have led the office of Commissioner Roberto Ruiz to contact Melisa D. Montemayor, Administrator of the TXDOT, Laredo District.
