The Maverick County Commissioner's Court held a special meeting to discuss and possibly approve the hiring of additional employees for the County Tax Assessor Collector’s office.
After discussing the issue the court voted in favor of hiring two additional employees to assist in that office.

Maverick County Commissioners Court discussed the long lines and wait times being seen at the Tax Assessor office with Collector Isamari S. Villarreal during their meeting held on Monday March , 12.
 County Judge David Saucedo opened up the issue for discussion.

The Middle Rio Grande Workforce Solutions is now offering free income tax preparations at their offices through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) grant program.

In Del Rio this afternoon, 64-year-old former Val Verde County Precinct I Commissioner Ramiro V. Ramon pleaded guilty to charges that he underreported his total income on three separate federal Income Tax Returns.

Maverick County Commissioners Court held a special meeting on Thursday, January 19,  in which they discussed and consulted with their legal counsel on matters pertaining to a possible contract between Maverick County and the Eagle Pass Independent School District to run a EPISD Tax Ratification election.

Maverick County Hospital District held their annual budget meeting early in this week.

The proposed budget included keeping tax rates at 9 cents per hundred: the same as this year.
