Maverick County has voted in favor of submitting formal proposals for the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS)  used by law enforcement agencies in the United States for collecting and reporting data on crimes; local, state and federal agencies generate NIBRS data from their records management systems.

A tractor trailer rollover on Highway 277 North towards Del Rio, Tx. resulted in one person being sent to the emergency room. The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Maverick County Sheriff’s Department will be hosting the 5th Annual Say No To Drugs Halloween Block Party Wednesday, October 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Maverick County Lake Pavillion.

The Maverick County Sheriff’s Department assisted US Border Patrol in an operation that resulted in the arrest of 11 undocumented immigrants in a safe house on the 900 block of Second St. on Sunday.

   A motor vehicle accident occurred in front of the bowling alley on El Indio Hwy. Sunday afternoon after the driver of a small Honda SUV lost control and veered off the road.

The Maverick County Sheriff’s Department responded to an incident involving a motor vehicle accident with a fixed object on Thursday, September 14.

Over 30 former and current employees of the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department and Maverick County are headed to court after mediation attempts to come to an agreement failed. 

The Tom Bowles Detention Center has 50 more prisoners who will temporarily be held as a result of an evacuation of the Corpus Christi area due to extreme weather.

Two traffic stops over the weekend resulted in the seizure of drugs by the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department.
