The Maverick County Sheriff Department detained a female adult from Eagle Pass identified as 31 year-old Emily Garza on two different charges including DWI and possession of a narcotic. 

Sheriff Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident at around 2 am on Saturday April 21 in the area of South Veterans Boulevard.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seize nearly 62 pounds of methamphetamine at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

Drugs continue to be a problem in the community as an increase in arrests related to harmful substances, including narcotics that had not previously been seen in the area, are becoming more common.

   EAGLE PASS, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly 30 pounds of narcotics at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

   “Our CBP officers are constantly vigilant in protecting the United States,” said Port Director John Brandt, Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

   U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly nine pounds of heroin at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

Two traffic stops over the weekend resulted in the seizure of drugs by the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department.

On Saturday, June 10, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Eagle Pass Police Department Investigators, in association with the Texas Department of Public Safety arrested an adult male. The arrest was made in connection with the seizure of 11.5 pounds of black tar heroin which has an estimated street value of $240,000. The adult male was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center and is pending presentation before a magistrate at this time. The case remains under investigation. 

The Maverick County Sheriff’s Department made two arrests Monday evening after occupants of a vehicle attempting to enter the US through International Bridge I were found with narcotics.
