A federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday March 13, 2018 that Texas’ ban on so-called sanctuary cities (Senate Bill 4) can take effect while legal challenges proceed. This decision throws a major curve ball into arguments that various communities including Maverick County have against the controversial bill.
MCJLS Royalty 2018
The MCJLS Association held its Royalty Contest on Sunday, January 21, 2018 with the participation of many local youth. The event was well attended by family, friends and community members in support of all the participants.
MCJLS Cowboy Breakfast 2018
Despite the cold weather, community members showed thier support for the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show at this year’s Cowboy Breakfast. The MCJLS has a variety of events planned this week including the exhibition where students will show thier projects. The event is scheduled for Saturday at noon.
