Public hearing on water impact fees set for March 20

The Eagle Pass City council voted in favor of a resolution scheduling a public hearing to discuss the imposition of a water impact fee to benefit the Eagle Pass Water Works System and its Capital Improvement projects.

Fort Duncan celebrates 168 years in March

168 years ago during the month of March, the U.S. government established the permanent Fort Duncan Military post on the East Bank of the Rio Grande River.
Prior to the establishment of Fort Duncan, a temporary settlement called Camp Eagle Pass was located at the site at the start of the Mexican-American War in 1846. Fort Duncan was then established and named in honor of Mexican-American War hero, James Duncan.
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness month

March is recognized as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in the United States. Colon cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the nation, and the second leading cause of cancer related deaths, affecting people in all racial and ethnic groups, and is often found in people age 50 and older.
