23-year-old Jesus Gonzalez, a native of Eagle Pass is on his second year at Rush University in Chicago Illinois where he studying science. 

Growing up in Eagle Pass, a community with many adversities, Jesus beat the odds and became the first person in his family to earn a four-year college degree and the first to pursue an advanced degree.
