PTK recognized for library renovation

The Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees held a meeting on Monday, July 10, in which they heard a presentation from members of Southwest Junior College's Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) on the remodeling project at the Glass Elementary Library.
SWTJC students complete Glass Elementary library remodel project
On Tuesday, June 27 SWTJC Eagle Pass Campus’s Phi Theta Kappa and SWTJC students completed their Glass Elementary Library Remodel project which is part of their PTK Reading B.O.O.K.S. (Books Offer Opportunities for Knowledge and Success) campaign. Over the course of three and a half weeks, PTK worked on making the library an engaging and friendly reading environment. More than thirty SWTJC and Back to Action Physical Therapy volunteers cleaned, sanded, primed, painted, and constructed furniture to make the project a success.
Mayor Cantú visits Glass Elem.
Mayor Ramsey English Cantu visited 5th grade students from Glass Elementary on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 to provide information on the City’s new plastic bag ordinance. The students sent letters to the City expressing their feelings on the ordinance and Mayor Cantú surprised them with a presentation as well as gifts for the classes.
