Over ,9,800 Children on The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) from Maverick County were given a slight reprieve this past week when the United States House of Representatives voted in favor of a bill to refinance CHIP, but the funding is still in doubt.

Over 9,800 local children covered under the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) have been dealt a blow as the U.S. Congress just allowed the program, which provided low-cost health insurance to 9 million children, to expire.
