La continua batalla de ajedrez entre las autoridades a lo largo de la frontera entre Texas y México es algo sobre lo que se ha informado durante los últimos 96 años.
For the second year in a row due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, H-E-B will not be hosting their annual Feast of Sharing celebrations across the state, including in Eagle Pass.
With in-person dinners on hold this year, H-E-B Mobile Kitchens will instead hit the road to support food banks across the state as part of the company’s annual Feast of Sharing celebrations.
During November and December, H-E-B’s Feast of Sharing will donate more than 340,000 meals to 18 Texas food banks and provide monetary gifts to more than 45 hunger relief organizations in the state.
Although this year’s H-E-B Feast of Sharing will not include the traditional in-person dinner events and volunteer opportunities, H-E-B with the help from its Mobile Kitchens, will partner with Texas food banks. To support Texans across our great state throughout the season, these dedicated organizations will provide meals prepared by the H-E-B Mobile Kitchens, holiday gifts, and H-E-B Meal Simple dinners, which will include roasted turkey, green beans, and mashed potatoes with garlic butter.
“For more than three decades, the HEB Feast of Sharing is a joyous celebration we look forward to each and every year, a festive occasion where we can enjoy the holidays with our neighbors,” said Winell Herron, Group Vice President of Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs. "While we're not able to celebrate in person this year, thanks to our dedicated nonprofit partners, we're still able to touch the lives of so many across our great state and celebrate together in spirit."
In-person H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinners are scheduled to resume next year, during the 2022 holiday season.
Since 1989, the H-E-B Feast of Sharing has invited people to celebrate the holidays with food, music, and good cheer. The free holiday feasts, which are held in more than 34 cities in Texas and Mexico, bring together family, friends, and neighbors, and provides H-E-B an opportunity to give thanks to its loyal customers, regularly serving more than 250,000 meals. In the more than three decades H-E-B has held the celebrations, more than 375,000 volunteers have helped serve nearly four million meals. This initiative is an important part of H-E-B’s Hunger Relief Program, which works year-round to prevent hunger in the more than 300 communities H-E-B serves.
Last year, H-E-B’s Hunger Relief Program donated 41 million pounds of food to families in need. Since 1982, the year the program was founded, H-E-B has donated more than 1 billion pounds of food to 5,500 non-profit organizations in Texas and Mexico.
