Travelers waiting to cross into Mexico through the Eagle Pass Port of Entries were waiting up to 7 hours in line before making their way into the Mexican side of the border.
One of the main reasons for the delay was the safety protocols and measures put into place by Mexican Authorities due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. That included a health screening area for every individual crossing from the United States into their Country. But that didn't stop thousands of travelers from taking the trip and risks.
The majority of the travelers had no option but to wait in line as they are headed into Mexico to mostly reunite with family for the Thanksgiving Holidays.
This is nothing new and occurs every holiday. What's new is the long lines and even longer wait times to cross.
The same thing will happen once they return. They'll once again be stuck in those same long lines to cross back into the U.S.
Local Authorities are hoping that they do not see a huge increase in new positive Covid-19 cases in the following weeks.
