UVALDE, Texas (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a Texas man whom authorities accuse of causing a traffic collision that killed 13 people in a minibus returning from a church retreat in March.

The Uvalde County district attorney's office said Thursday that Jack Dillon Young, 20, was indicted Monday on multiple charges, including intoxication manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury.

Young turned himself in Wednesday and was being held on a $380,000 bond, District Attorney Daniel Kindred said in a statement emailed Thursday. He has a court hearing scheduled for late July.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. law enforcement officials conducted a raid in a home in the Loma Bonita area with participation from agencies including the Eagle Pass Police Department, Maverick County Sheriff Deputies, DPS, DEA, FBI, and US Border Patrol. 

 

Two suspects were detained in front of the home located at the 1000 block of Avenida Encuentro, behind Panchito’s Market, and were taken by Border Patrol. 

 

More information on the incident will be released as it is made public. The Loma Bonita area has been involved in several drug busts recently including the arrest of Armando Felán on the very same street and most notably the arrest of Eric Hernandez and Ricardo Rodrigo Rodriguez who had been selling drugs at the corner of Eidson Road and Potro Street also in the Loma Bonita area.
