The Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees are moving forward with another project that has been in the works for the past 9 months.

The EPISD Board of Trustees met on tuesday in which consulted with their attorney over awarding a sealed proposal contract for the Eagle Pass and C.C. Winn High School Band Hall expansion projects, which were initiated in the latter part of 2018.

The necessary expansion projects have been years in the making as both schools have outgrown the space currently available.

The projects are expected to cost $5,509,386 for both High School Band Halls.

The Eagle Pass High School Band Hall will go from approximately 7,000 sqft to 17,000 sq ft. The C.C. Winn High School Band Hall will go from close to 8,000 sq ft to 17,000sq ft as well.

The Eagle Pass High School Band Hall Project is estimated to cost $2,850,000 and the C.C. Winn project will come in at $2,300,000.

During a EPISD Board meeting held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, an engineering firm for the multi-million dollar project was discussed and approved by the EPISD Board of Trustees.

The EPISD Board of Trustees chose Big Red Dog Engineering/Consulting from San Antonio, Texas to provide its professional services to the district’s newest project.

The EPISD Band Hall Projects will certainly add much-needed space and accommodations for hundreds of school kids who participate in the district's music program.
