The seminars will take place on August 12-13, and resume on the 15th and 16th. DA Serna states that there are numerous other seminars planned for this coming year.

The upcoming seminars consist of a two-day course, “Traffic Stops, The Law and Court”, will be held on Monday and Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. at the Dimmit County Rodeo Arena & Conference Center, 539 Industrial Blvd., Carrizo Springs. Additionally, these trainings will also focus on the legal requirements and limits on the officer's ability to search.

“Officers who attend this course will be eligible for 16 hours of TCOLE credit,” added Serna.

Another two-day seminar, “The Forensic Investigation in Child Physical Abuse: Making a Difference Together”, in partnership with the Shaken Baby Alliance, the Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers, the Eagle Pass Police Department, the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas, and the Children's Justice Act Texas Center for the Judiciary Grant Program, will be held on Thursday and Friday beginning at 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. at the ICT Center, 3295 Bob Rodgers Drive, Eagle Pass, Texas.

District Attorney Roberto Serna urges all law enforcement agencies to take advantage of these free trainings.

The training seminars being presented will help veteran and beginner peace officers refresh, learn and understand current changes and important issues in the law.
