This property purchase has been in negotiations for several months and could possibly house the Maverick County Tax Assessor’s Office.

The Maverick County Commissioners Court announced the acquisition during their meeting held on Monday, July 15, 2019.

The total of the purchase will be in the amount of $650,000.

The property in question is located at 1823 S. Veterans Blvd.

The property has a large building which once was Eagle Warehouse No. 2.

The new acquisition would be of great help to the County Government and will certainly assist in alleviating some problems within the Tax Assessor’s Office’s space.

During the same meeting, the Maverick County Commissioners Court also approved to negotiate the possible purchase of the VFW Park located on Crane St. in the Chula Vista sector of the community in the amount of $70,000.

This park has been transformed in recent years into a flourishing part of the community after suffering years of neglect from ex-county officials.

The park now houses an extension office for Pct. 1 and baseball park and playground.
