City holds 5k Color Run & Walk

Over 100 people participated in the City of Eagle Pass Stars and Stripes 5K Color Run & Walk held on Sunday, July 7, 2019. Physical activity enthusiast including children, teens and many other age groups enjoyed the event which included participation from several city officials. Among those who partook in the 5K race was Mayor Ramsey, and City Councilman Luis Sifuentes. 

The overall winner's presentation was held in the heart of downtown at the “I Love Eagle Pass” statue on Main St. “ We congratulate all the winners and participants and urge the community to keep fit,” said Mayor Cantu.

The Male and Female overall winners include 1st place Issac Gonzalez Cruz with a time of 18 minutes and 23 seconds, 2nd place Oscar Ruiz Jr. (18.43), 3rd place Issac Coronado Vega (19.20).

The Overall Women's winner was Maria Ballesteros with a time of 23 minutes and 43 seconds, 2nd place went to Jessica Martinez Colorado (27.52), and Judith M. Alcaraz Rodriguez took 3rd place with a time of 28 minutes and 2 seconds.

There were also medals presented to different age categories.

The City will be hosting a Freedom Riders Bike Race on Saturday, July 14 from 9 am to 12 pm
