A Maverick County resident had her 2015 GMC Suburban stolen from outside of her home and found it crashed several blocks away after tracking it through its GPS system.

The incident occurred in an area near Rosita Valley Rd. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that the female adult noticed that someone had taken her vehicle from outside her home without her consent.

She then proceeded to try to track down the vehicle's movements with its GPS system.

They were able to find the vehicle a few blocks away from her home but unfortunately it had been crashed by the subject who took it.

Eyewitnesses of the accident stated that the subject fled the accident scene on foot.

Sheriff Schmerber states that they are looking into arresting an individual who has been identified because he left his wallet inside the 2015 GMC vehicle.
