Representatives from Mckinstry presented the Maverick County Commissioners Court with a savings check stemming from a $2.2 million energy performance contract for energy and facility services, to install energy-saving upgrades in buildings throughout the county.
County Judge David Saucedo stated that he was glad the work had been completed and looks forward to lowering cost with the energy savings upgrades implemented.
Back in 2018 the County and Mckinstry implemented numerous building renovations which included facility lighting, thermostat and HVAC unit replacements, along with upgrades that will allow county water management systems to operate more efficiently.
A total of 25 Maverick County buildings were renovated, including the courthouse, airport, jail, and public library.
Those upgrades are at no cost to taxpayers, with the contract being paid off in its entirety over the course of several years through guaranteed annual energy savings.
“These improvements will not only help stretch our energy dollars, but they will also provide a more comfortable environment for all Maverick County residents,” said Judge Saucedo.
