Maverick County Sheriff Departmental reports state that Sheriff deputies responded to a single motor vehicle accident (rollover) on U.S. Hwy 277 North near Cunningham Lane.
Upon arriving at the accident scene, deputies made contact with a female adult who was identified as the driver of a 2015 White Dodge Ram which had rolled over and was trapped inside the vehicle.
During contact, Deputies observed a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the interior of the vehicle and an opened alcohol can.
EMS and Fire Department were summoned to the location where the driver was then extracted from the vehicle using the jaws of life and was then transported to the local emergency room. Preliminary investigations revealed the driver was traveling Northbound on U.S. Hwy 277 North swerving left and right and then veered off the road striking a cement pillar, causing the vehicle to roll over and land on its side.
The female was later identified as 45-year-old Tamera Lee Oneal and could possibly face charges for driving under the influence.
