The Eagle Pass Police Department received a call reporting Animal Cruelty on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at approximately 1:27 pm.

A resident reported that they had found two kittens inside of a plastic bag in the tailgate of a pickup truck that was parked outside of HEB.

Police officials responded to the scene and their report states they were not able to make contact with the driver of the vehicle.

Sadly, it's unknown what happend to the kittens, who the complainant reported were still alive inside the tied-up plastic bag.

The Buddy Foundation was notified of the incident and weighed in on the cruelty incident. “To the monster who put these live kittens in a plastic bag and tossed them in the bed of his truck, we hope you live to feel what those poor kittens suffered. We know they’re probably dead by now. He parked his truck while he shopped at HEB and left them there in a plastic bag in today’s smoldering temperature. Some passerby people heard their cries and called EPPD and waited for help before leaving them there. We contacted EPPD but “there’s not much they can do”.

That’s why people feel so free to be so cruel to animals in our community. Because animal welfare means nothing to so many people. If this isn’t animal cruelty, we don’t know what is. Poor babies...the whole world failed them...and especially the monsters driving this truck!” stated the Buddy Foundation.

Animal Cruelty is a criminal offense in the State of Texas and is punishable according to the violation under the Texas Penal Code.
