The City of Eagle Pass held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly remodeled Jando Guedea Park on Monday, May 13, 2019.

The new park Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) facility was introduced by Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey E. Cantu, who emphasized on the importance of building a community around everyone’s needs. Mayor Cantu welcomed all in attendance and proceeded to present to the public the new park equipment, which is now handicap accessible.

This new equipment will provide access to children from our community who have some disability.

The user-friendly park is now open to the public.

Also present during the park unveiling were City Councilman Luis Sifuentes, City Manager George Antuna, and Assistant City Manager Ivan Morua.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is federal legislation passed in 1990 that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. The law prohibits private employers, state and local governments, employment agencies and labor unions from discriminating against the disabled.
