Plans are currently in place to connect the newly built park with a renovated walkway/corridor that will give visitors access from the Chamber of Commerce and parking area.
One of the issues that visitors to the Garrison St. Park have encountered is no parking area.
The City did take that issue into consideration and is currently designing the walkway, which will connect the Amphitheater area with the new park. The Eagle Pass Public Works Department will be doing the corridor work.
The City of Eagle Pass Amphitheater and River Walk area is a beautifully designed area that could boost tourist and community interest into the downtown area.
For years the Amphitheater and River Walkways have gone untapped due to certain flaws in the area’s construction design that could be a liability.
The City is looking into every opportunity to put that park area into play in its plans to enhance life and attraction in our community.
