Autism Convention a great success

The Eagle Pass HEROES Autism Convention held on Saturday, April 13, 2019,

from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the International Center for Trade was a huge success and was attended by hundreds of people from across the region. The convention presentations brought vital awareness and educational tools from professionals on autism including Dr. Berenice de la Cruz, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA (Autism 101); ABA Therapy basics - Lisa Guerrero, M.Ed, BCBA & Tyler Holt, M.Ed, BCBA, Autism Therapy Group; Dr. James Williams, Bloom Consulting; Dr. James Williams, Blooms’ Consulting; Alonzo Andrews, MA, BCBA & Janet Enriquez, MS, Special Workshops; Tisha Gonzalez, M.A. SLP, BCBA LBA, TCAC and Sandra E. Jacobs, M.A. BCBA LBA, TCAC, Bee Social Network, and Tisha Gonzalez, M.A. SLP, BCBA LBA, TCAC and Sandra E. Jacobs, M.A. BCBA LBA, TCAC. Bee Social Network provided first responders training for law enforcement personnel from the surrounding region.

Eagle Pass Heroes is a local non-profit organization that was created to Help Everyone with special needs gain Resources for Outcomes to guide Educational Success - (HEROES).

Autism is a developmental disorder of variable severity that is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behavior.

Locally there are hundreds of children who are afflicted by this spectrum developmental disorder.
